Growth & Puberty - Puberty is a period of physical maturation that involves rapid growth in all body systems, as well as emotional and hormonal changes. It's also associated with sexual development, such as the growth of sex organs and the appearance of pubic and underarm hair. Puberty typically begins between the ages of 8 and 13 in females and 9 and 14 in males, but the timing can vary by country.

Endocrine Oncology - Endocrine oncology refers to a medical speciality dealing with hormone producing tumors, i.e. a combination of endocrinology and oncology. Few centres are specializing in hormone producing tumors only, due to the relatively low incidence.

Diabetes Mellitus - Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a disease of inadequate control of blood levels of glucose. It has many subclassifications, including type 1, type 2, maturity-onset diabetes of the young (MODY), gestational diabetes, neonatal diabetes, and steroid-induced diabetes.

Thyroid Gland - The thyroid gland is situated at the front of the throat, below the larynx and comprises two lobes that lie on either side of the windpipe. The thyroid gland secretes hormones to regulate many metabolic processes, including growth and energy expenditure.

Short Stature - Short stature is a general term used to describe a condition in which a child or a teen's height is well below the average height of his or her peers. Short stature typically means that a person's height is below that of the shortest 3 percent to 5 percent of children of the same age and sex.

Endocrine Treatment - Endocrine therapy, also known as hormonal therapy or hormone therapy, is a treatment that adds, removes, or blocks hormones to treat certain conditions. It can be used to treat cancers that use hormones to grow, such as some prostate and breast cancers. It can also be used to adjust low hormone levels for conditions like diabetes and menopause.
